Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time Neurosurgeon to join our well-established team at Riverside Hampton Roads Neurological & Spine Specialists in Newport News, Virginia. As one of the largest neurosurgery practices in the region, we provide a comprehensive neurological and spine network across southeastern Virginia.

We welcome candidates at all experience levels, including recent graduates and experienced surgeons. Ideal candidates will have experience in high-volume, high-acuity settings and an interest in practicing within a collaborative, integrated system.
Practice and Hospital Highlights:
- Call will be 1:6 with recruited physician
- Inpatient APP coverage 7 days per week
- Only Level II Trauma Center in the Peninsula Region
- 450-bed flagship hospital (Riverside Regional Medical Center)
- Two 18-bed ICUs with neuro, surgical, and medical specialties
- 36-bed specialized Neuroscience Unit
- 16 operating rooms with dedicated neurosurgery block time
- Advanced imaging and intraoperative technologies including MRI, CT, O-Arm, C-arm, and neuronavigation systems
- Minimally invasive, endoscopic, and robotic-assisted surgical capabilities
- Only Comprehensive Stroke Certified Hospital in the Peninsula Region
- Two ambulatory clinic locations
- Large integrated neuroscience division with fellowship-trained neurology subspecialists
- PM&R physician embedded within neurosurgery practice
Clinical Services Include:
- Spinal fusions
- Minimally invasive neurosurgery
- Spine tumors and trauma
- Spinal stenosis and deformity
- Degenerative spine conditions
- Brain tumors and trauma
- Peripheral nerve surgery
- Stroke-related neurosurgical care
- Functional neurosurgery including DBS, Gamma Knife, and MRI-guided focused ultrasound
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Collaborative approach with physicians and advanced practice providers
- Ability to provide clinical leadership within the team
