Frazier Rehab Institute in Louisville, KY, part of the University of Louisville Health, the largest and most comprehensive health system in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Physical Therapist to join the Pediatric NeuroRecovery Program team. The Pediatric NeuroRecovery Program,, is an innovative and evidence-based outpatient program providing activity-based therapies for children, ages 1-18, with spinal cord injury and other neurologic disorders resulting in movement dysfunction. Frazier Rehab Institute also is affiliated with the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation NeuroRecovery Network,, a network of centers charged with developing and providing therapies that promote functional recovery and improve the health and overall quality of life for people living with paralysis. The Pediatric NeuroRecovery Program at Frazier Rehab Institute serves as its inaugural pediatric site.

The Pediatric Physical Therapist should possess an entry-level degree with PT licensure in the state of Kentucky (or eligibility).  Experience with pediatric patients and their families via internships or pediatric residency or prior employment in a pediatric setting is desirable. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, excellent team member, and good communicator with interest in a dynamic environment where research and practice function together. This is a full-time position requiring a 100% FTE to clinic and with experience transition to 75% FTE to clinic and 25% FTE to research.

Essential functions for this position include providing activity-based therapies for children ages 1-18 years, conducting evaluations, completing documentation, supervising Activity-based Techs during therapy and evaluations, consulting with families, engaging in research, and sharing research results through publications and presentations. On-the-job training in activity-based therapies is provided and expected. This is an opportunity for entry-level DPT or experienced therapist seeking to contribute to a progressive, science-based program to advance the recovery of children and adolescents with SCI and other neurologic conditions. We are committed to your growth and development as a PT through mentorship, weekly collaborative patient reviews, continuing education, participation in research fast-tracked to the clinic, and work collaboratively with a team of multi-disciplinary partners of pediatric specialists, e.g. pediatrician, pulmonologist, developmental psychologist, orthopedist, to advance a child’s or teen’s physical capacity, health, and quality of life.
