Department

The Psychology Department is very active in research, with Ph.D. programs in clinical, cognitive, developmental, neuroscience, and social. Our department has a vibrant faculty, outstanding resources, a favorable teaching load, and a collegial atmosphere. Faculty utilize a state-of-the-art research-dedicated MRI center featuring a 3T Siemens Prisma scanner, an MR-compatible high-density EEG system, MR-compatible TMS and tES systems, and peripheral equipment.

Responsibilities

The Department of Psychology at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Psychology. We are seeking candidates who take a development lens in their research and use human neuroscience methods. The successful candidate will be a multidisciplinary researcher affiliated with the developmental and neuroscience areas as well as other areas in the department if appropriate. The start date of the position is August 2023. Responsibilities will include teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, conducting and publishing research, and providing service to the department through work on committees.

Qualifications

Candidates with a doctoral degree in any area of psychology or neuroscience will be considered, including, but not limited to, developmental, educational, social, clinical, school, cognitive, or affective. Special consideration will be given to those who use fMRI, fNIRS, and/or EEG methods. The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in neuroscience. Candidates must have a strong publication record, high potential for external grant funding, and a commitment to excellent teaching with a diverse student population.
